Overview

The Smart Cart Scheduler gives you the ability to automatically set start and end times for your Smart Carts. This means you can schedule carts to go live and expire according to your needs—whether you're preparing for sales events, promotions, or holidays—without having to manually enable or disable them.

Use Case Examples:

  • Holiday Sales: Schedule your carts to go live right before Black Friday and automatically end after Cyber Monday to align with your promotional period.

  • Seasonal Promotions: Automatically activate for specific seasons, like summer or back-to-school sales, and set them to expire without additional effort.

  • Flash Sales: Set carts to go live and expire within a few hours or days to create urgency and maximize customer engagement.

This feature saves time and ensures your carts are perfectly timed for maximum impact!

This feature is available for V2 carts only and can be found in the Global Settings of the Smart Cart settings.

Accessing the Smart Cart Scheduler

  1. Navigate to the Smart Cart Dashboard

    • This page displays a list of all your Smart Carts, indicating whether they are live or not.

    • Each cart entry includes its name, version, and schedule status (if applicable).

  2. Managing Your Smart Carts

    • Click on the Smart Cart you'd like to edit or the three-dot menu next to any Smart Cart to access options such as:

      1. Disable: Deactivates the cart; it won't be shown to customers.

      2. Edit: Allows modification of cart settings, content, and scheduling.

      3. Rename: Changes the cart’s name for easier identification.

      4. Duplicate: Creates a copy of the cart.

      5. Set as Fallback: Marks the cart as the default if no conditions are met.

        1. This option will only appear in the menu if there is at least one cart with a schedule.

      6. Delete: Permanently removes the cart from the system.

  3. Finding the Scheduler

    • Go to the Smart Cart Settings.

    • Locate the Global Settings section.

    • Toggle on "Schedule Cart" to enable scheduling.

Configuring Your Smart Cart Schedule

Time Zone Configuration

Your Smart Cart schedule follows the time zone set in your app settings.
You can check or update your time zone in the Settings page on Rebuy.

Setting Up a Schedule

  1. Navigate to Global Settings: Open the Smart Cart editor.

  2. Choose Start Date: Click on the Start Date and select the date/time for your cart to go live.

  3. Select End Date: Choose an End Date to determine when the cart should stop running.

  4. Save: Click Save to schedule your cart accordingly.

Scheduling Limitations

You can schedule both the start and end dates up to 30 days in advance. For example:

  • Today: March 19th

  • Furthest Start Date: April 18th

  • Furthest End Date: May 17th

Global Fallback Cart Setup

  • Global Fallback Cart: This option is only available if you have set up a schedule (found in schedule settings).

  • When Enabled: The selected cart will become the fallback once the scheduled cart ends.

  • One Global Fallback Per Store: You can only set one global fallback. Changing this will update the fallback for all other scheduled carts.

  • Fallback Cart Type: Only v2 carts can be set as fallback carts. Legacy carts will not be available for selection.

  • Fallback Option Visibility: The option to set a cart as a fallback will be hidden in the kebab menu on the overview table page if no carts have schedules.

Important Notes:

  • Location: The "Global Fallback Cart" setting appears within the Schedule Cart toggle and will only show when a schedule is enabled.

  • Changing the Cart Before the Schedule Ends: If a user selects a different cart before the schedule ends, the schedule and global fallback will be deleted. A modal will appear, notifying the user of this action and asking for confirmation to proceed.

  • Fallback Display: If a user disables the scheduled cart before it ends, a modal will appear, allowing them to enable the fallback cart once the scheduled cart is disabled.

Priority Order for Live Smart Carts

If multiple scheduling settings apply, Smart Carts follow this priority order:

  1. A/B Testing settings (if active)

  2. Cart Scheduling

  3. Fallback Cart (default option when no other settings apply)

Additional Notes

  • This feature is only available for V2 carts.

  • Ensure your preferred time zone is correctly set for accurate scheduling.

  • You can only assign one cart as as your fail back cart (it must be a v2).
