Klaviyo Event troubleshooting
This section covers what to check when a Klaviyo Event you created in Rebuy is not appearing on the Klaviyo side.
Why is my Klaviyo Event not appearing in Klaviyo?
A Klaviyo Event you created in Rebuy appears in Klaviyo once a real order has been placed on your store after the event was created and set to Live. Until that first live order, the metric does not exist in Klaviyo, so Rebuy will not appear in the All Integrations dropdown under Analytics > Metrics and the event cannot be selected as a flow trigger.
Work through this in order:
Confirm the event exists in Klaviyo Events in the Rebuy dashboard and is set to Live, not off.
Confirm Integrations > Klaviyo shows a completed OAuth connection with the feature toggles visible.
Confirm the event name matches what your Klaviyo flow expects. Klaviyo's prebuilt Rebuy flow template looks for the name
[Rebuy] Order Placed, including the square brackets.Place a real order on your store, or wait for one. Rebuy sends the event when a live order comes through.
Return to Analytics > Metrics in Klaviyo, filter All Integrations to Rebuy, and open the metric.
Does Send Test Event make the metric appear in Klaviyo?
No, a test event does not make the metric available in Klaviyo, and it cannot stand in for a live order. Send Test Event in the Rebuy dashboard confirms that Rebuy can reach your connected Klaviyo account and that your Data Source returns recommendations for the order shown in Event Preview. The Sent test data successfully confirmation in Rebuy reports that Rebuy's request completed, not that Klaviyo has registered a usable metric. The metric becomes selectable after a real order.
Will Rebuy send events for orders placed before I created the event?
No, Rebuy does not backfill past orders, so orders placed before the Klaviyo Event was created and set to Live never generate the event. Only orders placed after that point send data to Klaviyo. This also means customers who ordered before setup have no Rebuy recommendations written to their Klaviyo profile, and emails referencing that profile property fall back to Klaviyo's default product feed for those customers.
Why does my Klaviyo flow show a prerequisites error for [Rebuy] Order Placed?
A prerequisites error on a Klaviyo flow that says Klaviyo has not yet received any [Rebuy] Order Placed events means the metric has not been created in your Klaviyo account yet. Klaviyo creates the metric the first time it receives that event from a live order. Once that order is processed, the error clears and you can select [Rebuy] Order Placed as the flow trigger, either through Flows > Create Flow filtered to Rebuy, or in a custom flow using the Metric block.
Next Steps
After setting up the Klaviyo event:
Add Rebuy Product Recommendations to your Klaviyo Flow or Campaign: Once the Klaviyo Event in the Rebuy Dashboard is configured, you can start adding product recommendations to your Klaviyo-powered emails. Read this help doc to learn how to do so.
