Learn how to set up Rebuy in your Recharge Customer Portal

This guide will walk you through implementing Rebuy’s data-source powered recommendations in the Recharge Customer Portal using a no-code approach. This feature allows your customers to receive personalized product recommendations based on their current subscriptions, canceled subscriptions, and when managing one-time products. This integration works seamlessly with the Novum, Prima, and Affinity themes.


  • Rebuy’s Customer Portal recommendations are available for all users of the Recharge platform.

  • Supported Themes:

    • Novum and Prima themes: Recommendations will replace the default Recharge items.

    • Affinity theme: Recommendations will appear below the current subscription being edited without conflicting with Recharge’s recommendations.

  • The Recharge Customer Portal widget works only for the "Embedded in platform storefront" customer portal location option.

Customer Portal Recommendation Features

  • Recommended One-Time or Subscription Products: Personalized suggestions based on customers' current subscriptions.

  • Exclusive Recommendations: Offer unique product suggestions tied to specific subscription products.

  • Reorganize and Handpick Offerings: Customize the products displayed in the Customer Portal.

  • Detailed Analytics: Track which products are most frequently added as add-ons.


Rebuy’s Customer Portal Recommendations can be easily implemented on your store with a few clicks and a little bit of copy and pasting.

Step 1: Access Rebuy Widgets

  1. Log in to your Rebuy account.

  2. Navigate to the Widgets section from the dashboard.

  3. Click on the Recharge Customer Portal widget.

Step 2: Choose the Type of Recommendations

You can choose from different types of product recommendations based on your business needs:

  • Top Sellers: Display your best-selling products to attract more customers.

  • Featured Items: Highlight specific products you want to promote.

  • In-Checkout Recommendations: Suggest additional products during the checkout process to increase order value.

These data sources can all be customized to be specific to your needs.

  1. Select the Widget you want to customize.

  2. On the widget customization page, you can adjust various settings:

    • Number of Products: Choose how many products to display (up to 24).

    • Products per Column: Adjust the layout by selecting the number of products per column.

    • Additional Settings: Customize other available settings to match your website's visual style.

Step 4: Obtain the Installation Code

  1. After customizing the widget, click on the Install Instructions button.

  2. Copy the provided code snippet.

Step 5: Integrate with Recharge

  1. Open the Recharge app.

  2. Navigate to the Footer HTML/CSS/JS section in Recharge.

  3. Paste the copied code into the designated area.

  4. Click Save to apply the changes.

Congratulations! Your Rebuy Product Recommendations are now integrated into your Recharge Customer Portal. This will help enhance the shopping experience for your customers by providing personalized product suggestions.

Important Considerations

  • Product Replacement: The Customer Portal widget will replace your existing products in the Customer Portal. Ensure your data sources include any products that may not be there after implementation.

  • Customization: The Customer Portal widget can be redesigned to match your Customer Portal theme. By default, it will key off of your Rebuy Theme settings, but this can be configured in the widget settings.
