How to submit a customer data deletion request
If a customer requests the deletion of their data and all Personal Identifiable Information (PII) within Rebuy, you must first remove the customer’s personal data in your Shopify Admin, following the guidelines provided in Shopify’s help documentation linked below.
Once Shopify receives and processes the customer data deletion request, the Shopify application will automatically submit a compliance webhook to Rebuy. This webhook notifies the Rebuy application of the customer data deletion request, prompting Rebuy to process the deletion accordingly.

How long does Rebuy retain deleted customer information?
Rebuy does not retain deleted customer information. Because the customer data deletion request process is an automated process that is managed through webhooks, Rebuy automatically deletes the data the on same day as the request.
Note: Rebuy will opt-in all customers for data obfuscation instead of full deletes unless the merchant specifically requests to opt out. Obfuscated data is retained for service accuracy.
How long does Rebuy retain undeleted customer information?
Rebuy retains customer information for the duration of the partnership with the merchant. This data is aggregated to provide certain services. If the merchant terminates services from Rebuy, Rebuy will retain existing data for six months. This is to facilitate potential reinstalls which generally occur within the six month timeframe. It is important to note that at the time of uninstall, Rebuy terminates registration to webhooks for the shop so new data is not processed by Rebuy.
