In your store's checkout process, the order status page and thank you page are synonymous terms, marking the final step of the checkout journey. This serves as an opportunity to promote additional items, potentially leading to another sale. Distinct from the post-purchase widget, the order status/thank you page widget presents an offer after the initial sale. If customers decide to add the item to their cart, they must complete the entire checkout process again. In contrast, the post-purchase offer seamlessly adds the product to the original order. Both options have their advantages, and this article will guide you through setting up the thank you page/order status page widget. If you are interested in post purchase, you can learn more about it via the link below.

Technical Video Instructions

If your Thank You / Order Status page is using Checkout Extensions you're unable to use the Thank You page widget at this time, as that widget is not currently supported within the Checkout Extensions environment.

However you can utilize our Checkout Extensions and Post Purchase widgets, plus Content Blocks as well!

Installation Instructions

Step 1 - Create Widget

From your Rebuy admin dashboard, select "Widgets". Then, choose the "Shopify Thank You Page" option. Don't worry, this particular setup is not difficult. Click "Create New ", then you'll get to your widget's settings which can later be accessed by just clicking the widget via the online store or shopify thank you page tab.

Step 2 - Customize

You need to set the widget types Layout/Display type to "Pop Up" or "Embed", and Popup Trigger to "Page Load" (no popup trigger is set for the embed option), as well as the data source attached to it. (make sure it has data to recommend!) How to setup Data Sources. Each created widget will have a data source attached to it that shares the widget's name, so it will be easy to manage!

Step 3 - Add Rebuy Widget to the Shopify page

In order for the widget to load in the Shopify Thank You page, we have to add the Rebuy div. If you go to your Shopify Admin > Settings > then Checkout and scroll down you will find the "Order status page" section under the β€œPost-purchase page” section.

Keep that window open, and go back to the widgets settings page in Rebuy on another tab. Copy the widget div from the placement tab in the widgets settings and paste it into the Order status page additional scripts block that you just navigated to in Shopify as seen above.

ENSURE REBUY IS INSTALLED ON ORDER STATUS PAGE

On some themes Rebuy may not automatically be installed on the Order status / Thank You page. In this case, you'll need to also add the Rebuy load script to your Order status page > Additional scripts block. You will want to add it exactly as the screenshot displays above.

The script is listed below if required.

<script async src="https://cdn.rebuyengine.com/onsite/js/rebuy.js?shop={{ shop.permanent_domain }}"></script>

Step 4 - Veirifcation

To QA this Popup, you will have to get behind the paywall by purchasing something on your site (then canceling the order later), to make sure that the products you are recommending are being displayed and that the popup works!
