Product Quick View is a setting in a Rebuy widget's Product Settings that gives each product the widget returns a way to open its details in a window on top of the page. From a Product Quick View button, the product photo, or both, a shopper sees more product images, picks a variant, and adds the product to their cart without going to the product page. You turn Product Quick View on per widget in the Quick View Options section of the widget editor's Product Settings, and Product Quick View works both in widgets on your store's pages and in cross-sell widgets inside the Smart Cart. Product Quick View opens one product's details from a widget, which makes it a separate feature from Smart Search Quick View, the search dropdown that opens from your store's search icon.
Which Rebuy widgets offer Product Quick View
Product Quick View is available on the Rebuy widget types below, and each of them has a Quick View Options section in its widget editor's Product Settings:
Product Cross-Sell widgets, the recommendation widgets you place on product pages, the home page, and other pages of your store.
Cart Cross-Sell widgets, including the cross-sell widgets placed in the Smart Cart with the Cross-Sell Widget component.
Rebuy Product Add-Ons widgets.
Dynamic Bundle widgets.
Tabbed Recommendations widgets.
When a widget's Product Settings has no Quick View Options section, that widget type does not offer Product Quick View. Bundle Builder offers Product Quick View too, turned on with the Product Quick View setting in the Bundle Builder editor's Product Display settings rather than with a widget's Quick View Options.
Turn on Product Quick View for a widget
To turn on Product Quick View, open the widget's editor and switch on Enable Quick View in Product Settings. Product Quick View is off on a new widget.
In the Rebuy admin, go to Cart & Merchandising > Widgets and open the widget. For a cross-sell widget in the Smart Cart, you can also open it from its Cross-Sell Widget component in the Smart Cart editor.
Open Product Settings.
Expand Quick View Options and turn on Enable Quick View.
Under Triggered By, select Button, Product Photo, or both. Button is already selected the first time you turn Product Quick View on.
Optionally change Open Quick View Text, the label on the Product Quick View button, and Add to Cart Text, the label on the Add to Cart button inside the Product Quick View window.
Under Configure, select Quantity Selector and Product Description if you want them in the Product Quick View window, and choose a Display Layout.
Click Save.
The editor preview now shows the Product Quick View button on each product in the widget. To confirm it on your store, reload a page where the widget appears, click the Product Quick View button on a product, and check that the Product Quick View window opens.
Choose what opens Product Quick View
The Triggered By setting in a widget's Quick View Options decides what a shopper clicks on a product in the widget to open Product Quick View. You can select both options.
Button adds a Product Quick View button to each product, labeled with your Open Quick View Text, which reads Quick View unless you change it.
Product Photo makes the product image open Product Quick View. With Product Photo selected, clicking the image opens the Product Quick View window instead of taking the shopper to the product page.
A Rebuy Product Add-Ons widget has no Triggered By setting, and the add-on's image opens Product Quick View whenever Enable Quick View is on.
A Dynamic Bundle widget's Triggered By setting offers Product Title in place of Button, and with Product Title selected, clicking the product title opens Product Quick View instead of the product page.
What shoppers see in the Product Quick View window
The Product Quick View window opens on top of the page the shopper is already on, so they stay on that page while they look at the product. The Product Quick View window shows the following:
The product's main image, with thumbnails of its other images when the product has more than one image. Clicking a thumbnail shows that image.
The product title and price, with the compare-at price beside it when the selected variant is on sale.
Whether the selected variant is in stock or sold out.
A variant dropdown, when the product has more than one variant.
A quantity selector, when Quantity Selector is selected.
The product description in an expandable Description section, when Product Description is selected and the product has a description in Shopify. The description shows as plain text, without the formatting it has on your product page.
An Add to Cart button labeled with your Add to Cart Text. When the selected variant is sold out, the button shows the widget's sold out label and cannot be clicked.
The Product Quick View window does not show product reviews or star ratings, even when the product cards in the widget itself show star ratings from a connected review app. On a Rebuy Product Add-Ons widget, the Product Quick View window has no Add to Cart button, since add-ons go into the cart together with the main product, so the shopper ticks the add-on's checkbox to choose it.
Set the Product Quick View window layout
Display Layout in a widget's Quick View Options sets how the Product Quick View window arranges the product images and the product details. Grid, the default, places the images above the product details. Line places the images on the left and the product details on the right, and on screens 576px wide or narrower it switches to the Grid arrangement so the Product Quick View window fits a phone screen.
Product Quick View in the Smart Cart
Product Quick View works in cross-sell widgets placed in the Smart Cart, so a shopper can open a recommended product's Product Quick View window from the cart drawer and add the product without leaving the cart. Product Quick View in the Smart Cart is available only on the products a cross-sell widget recommends, so the items a shopper has already added to the cart do not open Product Quick View. You turn Product Quick View on in the cross-sell widget's own editor, under Product Settings > Quick View Options, the same way as for a widget on any other page. Open that editor from the widget's Cross-Sell Widget component in the Smart Cart editor, or from Cart & Merchandising > Widgets. For setting up the cross-sell widget itself, see How to Create an Embedded Cart Cross-Sell Widget.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I make the product image open Product Quick View without a Quick View button?
To have the product image open Product Quick View with no Quick View button on the product, set Triggered By so that only Product Photo is selected.
In the widget's editor, open Product Settings and expand Quick View Options.
Make sure Enable Quick View is on.
Under Triggered By, uncheck Button and check Product Photo.
Click Save.
The products in the widget no longer show a Quick View button, and clicking a product's image opens the Product Quick View window instead of the product page. A Rebuy Product Add-Ons widget works this way already, since its image opens Product Quick View and it has no Quick View button or Triggered By setting.
Can Product Quick View be turned on for only some products in a widget?
No, Product Quick View cannot be limited to some products in a widget, because Enable Quick View is a widget setting and applies to every product that widget shows. When Enable Quick View is on, each product the widget returns gets the Product Quick View triggers chosen under Triggered By, and when it is off, no product in that widget has Product Quick View. To offer Product Quick View on some products and not others, use two widgets with their own Data Sources, one with Enable Quick View on that returns the products you want it for, and one with it off for the rest.
Can the product title open Product Quick View?
No, the product title cannot be set to open Product Quick View on any widget type except Dynamic Bundle. On Product Cross-Sell, Cart Cross-Sell and Tabbed Recommendations widgets, Product Quick View opens only from the Quick View button or the product photo, chosen under Triggered By in Product Settings > Quick View Options, and on a Rebuy Product Add-Ons widget Product Quick View opens from the product image. On a Dynamic Bundle widget, Triggered By offers Product Title alongside Product Photo, so the product title can open Product Quick View there.
Can I change the product description shown in Product Quick View?
No, Product Quick View has no description setting of its own, because the description in the Product Quick View window is the product's description from Shopify. To change what shoppers read in Product Quick View, edit the product's description in your Shopify admin under Products, which changes it on your product page as well. Product Quick View shows that description as plain text, without its formatting, and only when Product Description is selected in Quick View Options.
Can I change the images shown in Product Quick View?
No, Product Quick View has no image setting, because the Product Quick View window shows the product's own images from Shopify, with the featured image first and the product's other images as thumbnails below it. Showing different images, or a different order, in Product Quick View than on the product takes custom code written by your own developer, and Rebuy Support does not build or troubleshoot custom code.
