The checkout offers a great opportunity to cross-sell last-minute items to increase average order value (AOV), optimize your site’s conversion rate, and offer a more personalized experience for your customers. So let’s get one created and installed!

Creating our Widget:

From the Rebuy admin, navigate to the Widgets tab. From here you can see the most popular locations you can upgrade your online store as well as a list of all created widgets. Select "Shopify Checkout".

  • Note! Shopify requires merchants to be on Shopify Plus in order to edit the checkout.liquid file which is required for this widget installation.

If you haven't already created a Shopify checkout widget, you'll see a menu with some prebuilt configurations, select "Create New" on the "In-Checkout Recommendations" card. Otherwise, select "New Widget" on the top right-hand side of your screen to see the list of pre-configured options. You are more than welcome to choose the others as well! You have full control over the recommendations.

This quick start to the In-Checkout Recommendations widget will start with 2 items to show and install below the items in their cart and above the discount field by default and the Data Source is set to return AI recommendations. From here you'll just need to determine what you want the language of the widget to say, and what the offers(s) will be if you don't want to use the AI.
