What Are Nested Cart Items?
Nested Cart Items refer to the feature where related or bundled products are grouped under a parent item in the cart. When this feature is enabled, customers can view these related products in a collapsible dropdown, which makes the cart more compact and organized.
If Nested Cart Items are not enabled, all products will be displayed as separate line items.
How to Enable Nested Cart Items
Follow these steps to enable Nested Cart Items:
Navigate to Smart Cart Settings:
Go to your Smart Cart section and select the Smart Cart you want to update.
Access Cart Item Settings:
Click on the Cart Item Settings option.
Enable Nested Cart Items:
Scroll down until you find the Nested Cart Items setting.
Toggle the setting ON to enable the feature.
Customizing Nested Cart Items
Once Nested Cart Items are enabled, you can customize several aspects of how they are displayed:
1. Dropdown Display
Dropdown Option: When enabled, Nested Cart Items will appear in a dropdown under the parent item.
Default Dropdown State: The dropdown will default to closed, but you can change it to open if desired. This means that when the customer views the cart, the nested items will be expanded by default.
2. Customize Line Item Labels
Single Line Item Label: This label will be shown when there is only one nested item in the dropdown.
Plural Line Item Label: This label will be shown when there are multiple nested items.
These labels help customers understand how many related or bundled items are present.
3. Dropdown Labels
Hide Nested Items Label: This label appears when the dropdown containing the nested items is closed.
Show Nested Items Label: This label appears when the dropdown is open, indicating the presence of additional nested items.
Available Placeholders
You can include various placeholders in your labels to dynamically display information:
Nested Item Count: Displays the total number of nested items in the dropdown.
Single/Plural Line Item Label: Shows the appropriate label based on the number of nested items (either singular or plural).
Total Nested Item Cost: Displays the total cost of all the nested items in the dropdown.
