When to Use a Decorative Tier in the Tiered Progress Bar
The Tiered Progress Bar Decorative Tier is the right choice in several situations:
You want to display a cart threshold milestone with a custom label or message, but don't need the TPB to apply a reward automatically.
You're pairing the TPB with a Cart-location Selectable Gift with Purchase widget, so shoppers can choose their own gifts in the Smart Cart while the bar shows their progress toward each one.
You want to apply a partial discount (e.g., 50% off) on a specific product at a threshold, since TPB tiers using Shopify Functions discount products at 100% by default, the Decorative Tier lets you delegate the discount logic to a separate Gift With Purchase Widget (GWP) instead while the Tiered Progress Bar handles the visual progress bar separately.

To pair a Selectable Gift with Purchase widget with your Tiered Progress Bar Decorative Tier, follow these steps:
Create a Selectable Gift with Purchase widget at the Cart location and set its Milestones, as described in Selectable Gift with Purchase Widget: Let Shoppers Choose Their Free Gift.
In the Smart Cart editor, click Add + in an anchor area of the Smart Cart, select a Widget component, and select your Selectable Gift with Purchase widget from the Select Widget list.
