What is Smart Search Content Search?
Smart Search Content Search allows shoppers to discover blog posts and pages through the same search experience they use to find products. Shoppers searching for "jacket care" or "how to layer," for example, may be looking for editorial content before they are ready to buy. Content Search surfaces that content at the moment of highest intent.
Content Search appears in two places, each configured independently in the Smart Search editor:
Quick View (As User Starts Typing): A Matching Content section appears in the Quick View dropdown between Matching Collections and Matching Products, displaying relevant blog and page titles as clickable inline links.
Results Page: A Blog & Pages tab appears on the search results page alongside the Products tab. Shoppers can switch between tabs to browse products or content for the same query.
Both surfaces are disabled by default.
How to enable Content Search in Quick View (blog posts and pages)
Content Search in Quick View is enabled from the Quick View editor in the Rebuy admin. Once enabled, a Matching Content section appears in the Quick View dropdown as shoppers type, displaying matching blog and page titles as clickable links.
To enable Content Search in Quick View:
Go to Smart Search in the Rebuy admin.
Open the Quick View editor.
Navigate to As User Starts Typing and open the Matching Content settings panel.
Toggle Matching Content on.
Configure the section title and max suggestions as needed.
Save your changes.
Quick View Content Search settings
The following settings are available under As User Starts Typing > Matching Content in the Quick View editor.
Setting | Description |
Matching Content (toggle) | Enables or disables the Matching Content section in Quick View. Off by default. |
Title | The section header shown above matching content results in the Quick View dropdown. Default: Matching Pages |
Max Suggestions Displayed | The maximum number of content results shown before a "See More" link appears. Adjustable from 0–10 via slider. Default: 4 |
Note: Quick View displays content titles only. Images, descriptions, and other metadata are not shown in this surface. If no matching content is returned for a query, the Matching Content section is hidden entirely.
How to enable Content Search on the Results Page (blog posts and pages)
Content Search on the Results Page is enabled from the Results Page editor in the Rebuy admin. Once enabled, a Blog & Pages tab appears on the search results page alongside the Products tab.
To enable Content Search on the Results Page:
Go to Smart Search in the Rebuy admin.
Open the Results Page editor.
Locate the Content Search section.
Toggle Enable Content Search on.
Configure the tab titles, layout, and display settings as needed.
Save your changes.
Note: After saving, your content will be indexed on the next scheduled sync. Content Search syncs with your Shopify blog posts and pages every 24 hours, so newly published content may take up to 24 hours to appear in search results.
Note: Settings take effect in the editor's live preview in real time as you make changes, so you can see exactly how content will appear before saving.
Results Page Content Search settings
The following settings are available under the Content Search section of the Results Page editor.
Setting | Description |
Enable Content Search (toggle) | Turns the Blog & Pages tab on or off on the Results Page. When disabled, the results page displays products only, as usual. Off by default. |
Product Tab Title | The label displayed on the Products tab in search results. Supports the |
Content Tab Title | The label displayed on the Blog & Pages tab in search results. Supports the |
Max Displayed | The maximum number of content results shown on the Blog & Pages tab. Adjustable from 1–20 using the – / + controls. Default: 4. This is a maximum, not a guaranteed count — if fewer results are available for a query, only those results display. |
Content Layout | Controls whether content is displayed in a grid or list format. Grid (default): content cards arranged in a multi-column grid. List: content displayed in a single-column stacked list. |
Content Spacing | Controls the spacing between content cards. Options from tightest to loosest: None, Extra-Tight, Tight, Default, Loose, Extra-Loose. For grid layouts, spacing applies side to side. For list layouts, spacing applies top to bottom. |
Alignment | Controls the horizontal alignment of content titles and descriptions within each card. Options: Left, Center (default), Right. |
Tip: Using {{count}} in your tab titles gives shoppers an at-a-glance view of how many results are available in each tab before they click, reducing friction and setting expectations upfront.
Results Page Content Search styling settings
The following styling settings are available within the Content Search section of the Results Page editor. A Reset to Theme button is available to restore all styling to the store's default Rebuy theme settings.
Setting | Description |

Active Tab color | Sets the color of the currently selected tab. Applies to whichever tab — Products or Blog & Pages — the shopper is actively viewing. |

Show Description (toggle) | Shows or hides the content description below the heading. On by default. |
Description color | Sets the color of the description text. Includes a color picker and a Reset to Theme option. |
Show Image (toggle) | Shows or hides the featured image for each content result. On by default. |

Content Search limitations
Smart Search Content Search has the following limitations to be aware of before setting it up.
Disabled by default: Content Search must be enabled separately for Quick View and the Results Page. Enabling one does not enable the other.
Quick View shows titles only: On the Quick View surface, only the content title is shown as a clickable link. Images, descriptions, and metadata are not displayed.
No filters or sorting for content results: Filters and Sort By controls are hidden whenever the Blog & Pages tab is active on the Results Page. These controls apply to the Products tab only.
Max Displayed is capped at 20: The Results Page Blog & Pages tab supports a maximum of 20 content results.
Content only appears when results are returned: If a query does not match any blogs or pages, the Matching Content section in Quick View and the Blog & Pages tab on the Results Page will not appear.
24-hour sync cycle: Content Search indexes your Shopify blog posts and pages on a 24-hour sync cycle. Changes you make to your content in Shopify — new posts, updated titles, deleted pages — will be reflected in Smart Search results within 24 hours. A manual sync option is coming in a future update, which will let you trigger an immediate sync from the Rebuy admin without waiting for the next scheduled run.
Content Search FAQs
The following are common questions about Smart Search Content Search and how it works.
Can Smart Search surface blog posts and pages alongside products?
Yes, Smart Search can surface blog posts and pages alongside products using the Content Search feature. Content Search must be enabled separately for Quick View and the Results Page — both are off by default. In Quick View, matching content appears in a Matching Content section between Matching Collections and Matching Products. On the Results Page, a Blog & Pages tab appears alongside the Products tab.
Does enabling Content Search affect product results?
Enabling Content Search does not affect product results. Products continue to display as normal on both Quick View and the Results Page. Content results appear in a separate section (Quick View) or a separate tab (Results Page) and do not replace or displace product results.
Why isn't the Blog & Pages tab showing on my Results Page?
The Blog & Pages tab on the Results Page only appears when Content Search is enabled and when the search query returns at least one matching blog post or page. If no content matches the query, the tab is hidden entirely. Confirm Content Search is enabled under the Content Search section of the Results Page editor, then test with a query that matches a known blog post title.
Why isn't the Matching Content section showing in Quick View?
The Matching Content section in Quick View only appears when Content Search is toggled on under As User Starts Typing > Matching Content in the Quick View editor, and when the search query returns at least one matching result. If no blogs or pages match the shopper's query, the section is hidden. Test with a search term that matches a known blog post or page title to confirm the feature is working.
Can I use Content Search on Quick View and the Results Page at the same time?
Yes, Content Search can be enabled on both Quick View and the Results Page simultaneously. Each surface is configured independently, so you can enable one, both, or neither depending on your needs.
Can I filter or sort content results on the Blog & Pages tab?
Filtering and sorting are not available for content results. When the Blog & Pages tab is active on the Results Page, the Filters and Sort By controls are hidden. Those controls apply to the Products tab only.
What does the {{count}} variable do in tab titles?
The {{count}} variable dynamically inserts the number of results returned for that tab into the tab label. For example, a Products tab configured as Products ({{count}}) would display as "Products (28)" when 28 product results are returned. Both the Product Tab Title and Content Tab Title settings support this variable.
How often does Content Search sync with my Shopify blog posts and pages?
Content Search indexes your Shopify blog posts and pages on a 24-hour sync cycle. Any changes you make in Shopify — publishing a new post, updating a title, or deleting a page — will be reflected in Smart Search results within 24 hours of the next scheduled sync. A manual sync option is planned for a future update, which will let you trigger an immediate sync directly from the Rebuy admin without waiting for the daily run.
