Use this article to get the Smart Search Results Page running on your store: confirm the prerequisites, turn the Results Page on, find where each setting lives in the Results Page editor, and jump to the detailed guide for the area you want to configure.
The Smart Search Results Page is the full-page search results experience shoppers land on after they run a search in your store. It presents your matching products alongside filters, sorting, and pagination so shoppers can narrow results and find what they want with minimal friction, which helps boost conversions and revenue. The Results Page is one of the two Smart Search surfaces, alongside Smart Search Quick View, and both are part of Rebuy's Smart Search.
What the Smart Search Results Page is
The Smart Search Results Page is the dedicated, full-page search results experience that shoppers see after searching your store. You can present it as a dropdown, sidebar, or flyout-filter layout, and you configure every part of it in the Results Page editor in your Rebuy admin. The Results Page is a feature of Rebuy Smart Search and works together with Smart Search Quick View, the real-time panel attached to your search bar.
The live preview editor
The Smart Search Results Page editor includes a live preview of your actual storefront, rendered directly within the Rebuy admin as you configure settings. The preview fills the right side of the Configure Results Page editor, marked with a PREVIEW: SEARCH RESULTS label, and it reflects your real store theme, product catalog, and branding. Changes you make in the editor do not go live on your storefront until you click Save.
How the preview loads when you open the Results Page editor depends on your store's search history:
Existing Smart Search users: The preview automatically loads using your store's top search data, so a relevant result set appears right away without any input required.
Net-new Smart Search users (no prior search history): You are prompted to enter a search term to activate the preview. Once entered, the preview renders results from your storefront for that query.
Tip: The preview inside the editor is rendered in your Rebuy admin. To see the Smart Search Results Page running on your real store, click PREVIEW in the top bar of the Configure Results Page editor, next to Save. It opens your storefront in Rebuy Preview Mode in a new browser tab, where you can run real searches and use the results page the way a shopper would. The same preview action is also available on the Smart Search dashboard and in the Quick View editor.
What you need before using the Results Page
Before you can use the Smart Search Results Page, Smart Search itself must be installed and enabled on your store. The Results Page is a feature of Smart Search and will not function until Smart Search is live. If you have not set up Smart Search yet, follow the Smart Search Installation Guide first, then return to configure the Results Page.
How to enable or disable the Results Page
You enable or disable the Smart Search Results Page in two places in your Rebuy admin. Both control whether the Results Page is active on your storefront:
Results Page editor master toggle: Open the Results Page editor and use the Results Page enabled toggle at the top of General Settings. Turning it off shows a confirmation prompt before the Results Page is disabled.
Smart Search Settings page toggle: On the Smart Search Settings page, use the site-wide Results Page toggle in the Search Enabled card. Turning it on makes the Results Page active across your store; turning it off disables it. See Smart Search Global Settings.
Where the Results Page loads on your store
The URL where your Smart Search Results Page loads is set on the Smart Search Settings page, in the Search Results Page URL card. The default path is /search, and you can change it to a custom path such as /pages/search. For details, see Smart Search Global Settings.
Where each Results Page setting lives
You configure the Smart Search Results Page in the Results Page editor. To open it, go to Smart Search → Results Page in your Rebuy admin, which opens the Configure Results Page editor. The editor's left navigation lists every area you can set up: Layout, Filters, Sorting, Product Display, Call To Action, Pagination, Product Reviews, Content Search, No Search Results, and the advanced Selectors, Advanced Callbacks, and Custom CSS screens. Use the section below that matches the area you want to configure.

Frequently asked questions
How do I preview Smart Search on my site?
To preview Smart Search on your site, click PREVIEW on the Smart Search dashboard, the Quick View editor page, or the Results Page editor page. Any of these opens your storefront in Rebuy Preview Mode in a new browser tab, where you can run real searches and use Smart Search the way a shopper would.
Opening the Quick View editor or the Results Page editor also loads a live preview of your storefront inside the editor itself, on the right side of the screen. That in-editor preview is rendered in your Rebuy admin rather than on your live store: if your store has prior search history, it populates using your top search data, and if your store has no prior search history, enter a search term to activate it.
Why aren't my products or collections showing in my Smart Search results?
If a product or collection is missing from your Smart Search results, there are four common causes. Work through them in order:
The product is tagged
exclude_rebuyin Shopify. This tag hides a product from Rebuy recommendations and from Smart Search results. Remove the tag from the product in Shopify to make it searchable again. See Hide Products From Being Recommended. The product is out of stock and out-of-stock products are hidden. The Hide Out of Stock Products setting on your Smart Search Settings page removes sold-out products from search results. Turn it off if you want out-of-stock products to keep appearing. See Smart Search Global Settings.
The collection is excluded in your Smart Search settings. Collections you have excluded on the Smart Search Settings page do not appear in search results. Remove the collection from the exclusion list to surface it. See Smart Search Global Settings.
Your Smart Search data has not finished syncing. When you change products or collections in Shopify, Shopify notifies Rebuy through webhooks and Rebuy updates its Smart Search data. That update can lag behind Shopify during network disruptions, high traffic, or temporary API rate limits. To force a refresh, go to Smart Search → Settings in your Rebuy admin and run a re-sync from the Sync Manager. See Smart Search Global Settings.
After making a change or running a re-sync, reload your storefront and run the search again. The product or collection should now appear in your results. If it still does not, send us your store details and an example product or collection through the messenger on this page.
